The leaders of the two isolates states renewed their dedication and commitment to have each other’s back. That is Pyongyang’s full support for Moscow and Russian space technology for North Korea.

Let’s talk more about their bonding time with our foreign affairs correspondent Bae Eun-ji. Welcome, Eun-ji.

Thanks for having me.

So Eun-ji, their meeting lasted for about five hours.

What topped their talks? Well Dami, sitting next to Putin, Kim said in his opening remarks that Russia is fighting a “sacred war.

” He vowed full support, stressing that his regime would fight together in the battle against “imperialism.”

“We have constantly expressed our full and unconditional support for all the decisions taken by the president and the Russian leadership, and I want to assure you that we will always be together with Russia in the fight against imperialism.”

The two leaders held talks for several hours with their ministers before holding a separate one-on-one meeting.

This was followed by a lavish lunch, where Kim said they held an elaborate discussion about the “military and political situation” on the Korean Peninsula and in Europe.

There, he reassured Putin that Russia would win against what Kim called “evil.”

“The Russian army and people will certainly secure a great victory in the sacred struggle for the punishment of a great evil that claims hegemony and feeds an expansionist illusion.”

As for Russia, Putin did not disclose specific details on military cooperation but signaled his willingness to assist Pyongyang with their satellite program.

When asked by Russian media whether Russia would help North Korea launch its own satellites and rockets, Putin responded by saying “that’s exactly why we’re here.“

He added that Kim showed great interest in rocket engineering. This comes as North Korea twice failed to launch spy satellites in the past four months.

Right and this is the first time they’ve met in more than four years how was their meeting different from the one in 2019? The war in Ukraine has turned the tables, and things have definitely changed since their last summit.

The meeting in April 2019 took place just two months after the nuclear summit between Kim and former U.S. President Donald Trump ended in failure, without an agreement.

North Korea was desperately looking for a diplomatic lifeline, as it had been under UN sanctions for its nuclear and ballistic missile programs since 2006.

But now, it is Putin reaching out to Kim for help, as Russia is completely isolated on the global stage, and in need of help for more weapons.

Putin, who’s usually late to meetings with other foreign leaders, arrived at the Vostochny Cosmodrome early, and waited for Kim for about 30 minutes. As Kim arrived at the remote space launch site in Russia’s Far East, they were seen exchanging smiles and shaking hands.

Right.. like you just said, their meeting took place at a spaceport in Russia’s Far East.

Before they sat down for talks, the two leaders were seen touring the space center.

Why does it matter that Kim and Putin met at this specific location, what can we tell from this? Well, located not far from the Russian border with China, the Vostochny Cosmodrome is Russia’s most advanced space rocket launch site.

And it’s a symbol of Russia’s ambitions as a space power. Kim, who arrived by armored train from Pyongyang, was seen asking detailed questions about rockets as Putin showed him around the building where Russia’s new space booster, the Angara, is assembled.

The space launch facility came into service in 2016 when Russia launched its Soyuz-2 rocket.

Last month, the country launched another rocket carrying the Luna-25 moon spacecraft, which failed and crashed into the moon.

The fact that they chose this place for the summit suggests that North Korea and Russia will enhance military cooperation.

Putin will likely offer satellite launch technology to Kim, in exchange for North Korean weapons and ammunitions.

This has been sparking concerns by officials in South Korea and the U.S. –regarding Russia’s resupplying of weapons for the war in Ukraine and the development of North Korea’s missile capabilities…

この鉄道ではないかもしれないが、むンドネシアの高速鉄道事業請負競争を、2015幎頃に䞭囜ず日本がしおいた。
䞁床、その頃、私は2015幎8月6日に広島平和公園に行ったが、翌日家に戻られない策動がなされ、JR接山駅で䞀日過ごしたこずを芚えおいる。前幎の2014幎は逆で、8月6日に広島平和公園に行くこず自䜓を阻止された。䞉原で電車がstop であった。
そのずきに、もし、JRが故意にやっおいたならば、䞖界の新幹線賌入競争などで、JRがい぀か痛い目に遭うかもしれないず蚀った。


その盎埌くらいから、日本で決たりかけおいた、新幹線が玆䜙曲折の末に䞭囜からの賌入ずなった。詳现は、拙著『日本のフィクサヌME・Part 3』第4章のずきに少し觊れるかもしれない。もっずも、JR職員の䞀郚は、その話を聞いお、苊笑しおいた。ずいうのも、珟堎の人はJRの䞖界ずの商い競争ずは無関係だからである。経営陣か介入した人ぞの苊笑だったのであろう。

民䞻党時代は、円は玄70円たで倀䞊がりし、経枈孊者達は「これからは50円時代が圓たり前の時代が来る」ず蚀っおいた。日本䌁業の海倖移転に拍車をかけた。もっずも、尖閣囜有化問題や、タむのアナタダ倧措氎問題などで、この拍車は通垞の堎合よりは緩められた。今、䞖界に移転した䌁業のいく぀かが囜内回垰 を考えるかもしれない。
だが、いずれ、たた円高時代が必ず来る。その時は逆か。攟浪する日本の資本家ずなるか。内需䞻導はあり埗おも、内需を圧倒的な圢にするには、資源䞍足の囜・日本では難しい。

円安が止たりたせん。27日は、䞀時、今幎最安倀を蚘録したした。1月には、1ドル127円台を぀けおいたしたが、気づけば150円台に迫っおいたす。

倖囜人芳光客が戻っおきた日本。䞀方、日本からの海倖旅行の数は、コロナ前たで戻っおないそうです。
阪急亀通瀟広報郚・鈎朚毅郚長「円安がなければ、すぐにでも100、120の回埩があったず思う。円安の圱響もあり、珟状コロナ前の6割くらい。埐々に䞊がっおはきおいるものの6割皋床です」

歎史的物䟡高に盎面するアメリカ。そこに円安ずいうダブルパンチです。
アメリカ・ニュヌペヌクで圚䜏邊人埡甚達の日本食スヌパヌ『KATAGIRI』。長期滞圚に欠かせないこの店の商品を円に換算しおみたした。卵が8ドル59セント、玄1280円。カットされた長芋は玄730円、えのきだけが玄670円。豆腐は1パック玄450円したす。
珟地圚䜏者「初めは円に換算しおいたんですが、最近は円に換算するのをやめたした。1ドル130円くらいになったずきもキツむなず思ったんですが、さすがにここたでくるずは思っおなかったです」
珟地圚䜏者「母がおや぀やお金を送っおくるけど、円安の圱響で送りにくいず」

7月に赎任したばかりのニュヌペヌクの芪束支局長。䞀番驚いたのが、ラヌメンだずいいたす。
ニュヌペヌク支局・芪束聖支局長「家族4人でラヌメンを食べに行った堎合、ラヌメン4杯、そしお逃子3぀、ビヌル2杯を飲んだ堎合、2䞇円を超えおしたうんです。日本円頑匵っおほしい」

次は、ロンドン。赎任しお1幎半になる䜐藀蚘者の報告です。
ロンドン支局・䜐藀裕暹蚘者「自宅から支局に炊飯噚を持ち蟌んで、お米をラップに包んで、冷蔵庫に眮いおおきたす。ランチに食べるご飯です。 ロンドンに来おからランチを倖に食べに行くこずは、ほずんどありたせん」

䜐藀蚘者が赎任した圓時は、1ポンド152円ほど。それから1幎半で、180円を超えおいたす。
ロンドン支局・䜐藀裕暹蚘者「ビヌル1杯、1幎半ほど前は850円で飲めたが、物䟡高隰ず円安が進み、今は、1杯1260円です」

円安の波は、タむにも抌し寄せおいたす。タむではいた、史䞊2番目の円安状態にありたす。安く遊べる旅行先ずしお日本人に人気でしたが、バンコクの繁華街でも、マッサヌゞ店でも日本人芳光客の姿は、ほずんど芋られなくなったそうです。
マッサヌゞ店オヌナヌ「日本人は前は倚かったけど、すごく枛っおいたす。売り䞊げが枛れば、店の存続も懞念されたすし、埓業員の収入も枛っおしたいたす」

終わりの芋えない円安。こうしたなか、働き先を海倖に求める日本の若者たちが増えおいたす。
オヌストラリアぞのワヌキングホリデヌを垌望18「円安だず、あっちで皌げば皌ぐほど日本のアルバむトより皌げお、貯金もできお、垰っおくればよりお金が増える。こっちでアルバむトするより良いかな。英語も孊べるし」

ワヌキングホリデヌの盞談件数は、1幎前に比べお16倍に増加。実質賃金が䞋がり続ける日本で正瀟員になるより、海倖でアルバむトをしたほうが収入もいいし、スキルも身に付くず考えるからです。
ワヌルドアベニュヌ・束久保健倪瀟長「Q円安の圱響でさらに皌げる正盎蚀っお、皌げるかなず思いたす。日本の絊䞎ず比べお、ずおも高い絊料で、物䟡が高いのもあるんですけれども、円安になっお厳しいずころあるが、珟地に行っお皌げるずころも螏たえお、ワヌキングホリデヌ挑戊したいずいう方は増えおいる印象」

※気になるのが“為替介入”です。

去幎9月に、1ドル145円台に突入した際、政府は、24幎ぶりに為替介入を実斜し、10月ず合わせお合蚈3回、行っおいたす。このずきの効果に぀いお、ニッセむ基瀎研究所の䞊垭゚コノミスト・䞊野剛志さんは「幎末にアメリカの利䞊げ幅が瞮小する芋通しが広がり、䞀時、ドルが䞋萜した。この間、円安の進行を䞀定皋床抑制した」ずしおいたす。

為替介入はしないのでしょうか。

䞊野さんによりたすず、「為替介入は過床な倉動を抑制するために行うもの」ずいうこずです。去幎は、8月から9月にかけお急激に円安が進んでいたす。䞀方、今幎は、去幎の同じ時期ず比べお倉動は緩やかに芋えたす。そのため、珟段階では、介入の可胜性は䜎いずいいたす。

たた、䞊野さんは「円安のずきの介入は“ドルを売っお円を買う”介入。そのため、政府が持぀倖貚が枛る。将来の介入や、海倖ぞの支払いを考えるず、倖貚を持っおいるこずが䜙裕に぀ながる。介入せずに円安が収たるのなら、それがベスト」ずしおいたすが「今埌1カ月くらいの間で、1ドル150円を超えおくれば、為替介入の可胜性は高たっおくる」ずいいたす。

ただ「今埌、円安は萜ち着く可胜性があるのでは」ずしおいたす。「アメリカのむンフレは、今埌、おさたっおいく傟向にある。そしお、金利政策を決めるFRBの11月の䌚合で利䞊げは打ち止めになる可胜性が高い。そうなれば、日米の金利差が、これ以䞊広がらなくなるので、為替も『1ドル・145円皋床』ではあるが、萜ち着くのでは」ずみおいたす。

むンフレで、幎金生掻者は幎金は䞊がらず。特に囜民幎金のみの私などは、今の日本のホテルの倀段を芋お、もう手が出ない。
もし、自由の身であれば、フィヌルドワヌクをするずしおも、これでは海倖に行った方が安い。だが、そこは政府は卒がない。極端な円安誘導をやった。
「異次元の金融緩和」ずは、為替でみれば、「円安誘導政策」である。䞀皮の為替操䜜に近い。それを、䞖界的むンフレの䞭でも、ただしがみ぀こうずすれば、圓然極端な円安ずなる。
